Cotabato City, February 13, 2022— The Bayanihan, Bakunahan III has been participated by the Jail Nurses of the Bureau of Jail Management and Penology in the Bangsamoro Region. They had helped pushed the third round of anti-COVID-19 vaccination “Bayanihan, Bakunahan” campaign of the government.

Men and women from BJMP in the Bangsamoro region who are registered nurses assisted in the administration of vaccines to Bangsamoro residents. Separately, the Bangsamoro Autonomous Region in Muslim Mindanao’s Health Minister Bashary Latiph and their Director-General, the physician Amirel Usman, said Tuesday that they are grateful to BARMM’s BJMP, in collaboration with the other line agency personnel for supporting the government’s vaccination campaign.

These personnel assisted in maintaining the security and assessing the health of people seeking anti-coronavirus vaccinations at the different vaccination hub in the region.

For the Round III of the anti-COVID-19 National Vaccination Campaign, from February 10 to 11, a total of 320 vaccination hubs were set up across Bangsamoro Region for the “Bayanihan, Bakunahan” vaccination drive and a committed target of 164,304 doses daily.

The BARMM comprises the provinces of Maguindanao, Lanao del Sur, Basilan, Sulu and Tawi-Tawi; the cities of Cotabato, Marawi, Lamitan; and the and 63 villages in North Cotabato.

There are remote provinces that also need to be focused on because most of the people live in mountains and slopes. So it is necessary to bring the vaccines and establish vaccination sites in those areas.

During the third “Bayanihan, Bakunahan” mass vaccination drive, the local government units, as well as the Armed Forces of the Philippines (AFP) and the Philippine National Police (PNP), work together to bring the vaccine doses in far-flung areas in provinces.

The Ministry of Health Minister expressed his gratitude to the different BARMM ministries, agencies, offices, uniformed men and women, non-government organizations, civil society organizations, and volunteers for their assistance during the Bayanihan, Bakunahan.

The government focused on the COVID-19 inoculation in the Bangsamoro Autonomous Region in Muslim Mindanao (BARMM) during the extension of the third wave of its mass vaccination drive.

The Bayanihan, Bakunahan or the ‘National COVID-19 Vaccination Days’ program aims to intensify the country’s immunization rate against the Covid-19, devoting two-days solely for simultaneous vaccination activities nationwide. Targeted for inoculation are 15 million Filipinos across the country, around one million of whom will be from the Bangsamoro Autonomous Region in Muslim Mindanao.
